Understanding Client Access Server Namespaces

Exchange Organizational Models:

- Consolidated Datacentre Model: This model contains a single physical site and sits behind a single namespace e.g. mail.mydomain.com

- Single Namespace with Proxy Sites: This model contains multiple sites, although only exposes a single CAS and hence only has one namespace in the model - incoming requests are routed from the proxy to the other sites accordingly.

- Single Namespace and Multiple Sites: This model contains muliple sites each with it's own internet facing CAS - although they all share a single namespace.

- Regional Namespaces: This model contains multiple physical sites with their own namespaces e.g. mail.europe.mydomain.com and mail.asia.mydomain.com

- Multiple Forests: This model contains multiple forests that contain multiple namespaces. For example a company and it's sister company could use this model e.g. mail.ebay.com and mail.ebay.co.uk
