ISAKMP vs IKEv1/2

=These two terms are quite often used interchangably - although the two are very different - this post will aim to describe and contrast the two terms:

ISAKMP (Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol) is part of a group of protocols within IKE (ISAKMP, SKEME and OAKLEY). IKE establishes the security assosiation and authneticated keys - ISAKMP defines how the key exchange process works.
